Justo del Carril runs the PoloTips Polo Clinics; with ample experience teaching, coaching and playing around the world, he has received outstanding reviews on his polo training techniques.

He coaches players at all levels who need to improve their games through private and group lessons. The hours of instruction are flexible, adjusting to the players’ goals and needs.

During the morning, personal one-on-one instruction usually takes place. Participants are usually assessed during the first session to decide what aspect of their play needs to be worked on. These can be any number of skills, such as riding for polo, aiming and hitting, riding off, team positions, tactics, and so on.

In addition, the PoloTips Polo Clinics will concentrate on how to achieve a proper grip, the key to playing polo. A good grip will help a players’ swing and. consequently, their different shots. This is why del Carril has developed the PoloTips Perfect Grip Glove, a practice glove which will guide in achieving the perfect grip.

Justo is on location for the duration of the clinic, full-day intensive lessons and practice games, which gives him ample time to watch clinic participants in action and then further help them with their games, especially improving their hitting capabilities.

Clinic groups are arranged to accommodate players of different levels with varying needs and points of interest. Those who have worked with Justo unanimously agree that he has dramatically improved their hitting accuracy and distance.

Both the International Polo Clinics as well as the Polo Clinics in Argentina can be scheduled any time of the year. Both are custom planned to accommodate the group or students’ requirements.

For over 30 years, Argentines have been pre-eminent in the sport of polo. But explosive growth in players and the availability of good horses is increasing the competitive abilities of challengers from many countries, including the United States and Great Britain. PoloTips Polo Clinics' main objective is to be a part of this revolution and participate as main conductor.

Although polo may seem to be an elitist sport, it's really quite accesible for anyone who wants to play. In most cases, you will be surprised to find that polo schools and other facilities exist near you. Polo is about as rough and ready as any sport gets, so be prepared to fall off your horse and get right down in the dirt.

Equipment may seem expensive, but there's no need to go out and buy everything right away. Your teacher should be able to provide you with anything from helmets to horses, and as you start to get hooked on the sport, you'll be able to buy your equipment gradually. To get an idea of prices of good quality mallets and other equipment, I suggest you take a look at Nano's Mallets web page.

Polo Rules

You can find different versions of polo rules by clicking on the following links. Keep in mind that there are quite a few polo associations in the world, and they all have different versions (sort of like the difference between American English and British English), so make sure you've gone to the right link.
